Entebbe and Kampala

Kampala is the largest city and capital of Uganda. Entebbe is a large town located close to Kampala on Lake Victoria - this is where the international airport is found and most visitors will arrive. A night in the area is often necessitated and there are some good hotels to be found.

The main reason for visiting either city is when entering or leaving Uganda. People who do stay for longer generally stay on Lake Victoria out of town. Apart from the Lake, water sports and fishing, there are some excellent birding spots in the area and the River Nile is a short drive away.
