St James of Knysna

St James of Knysna is an exclusive country house hotel located in the heart of the Garden Route on the shores of Knysna Lagoon.

The luxurious suites and rooms have views across the lagoon to the Knysna Heads, or over the 3 acres of gardens. All the rooms and suites have en suite bathrooms, mini bars, tea/coffee making facilities, satellite television, safes, direct-dial telephones, bath robes and hairdryers.

The hotel's beautiful gardens offer peaceful walks, a large Koi pond, two swimming pools, croquet, and angling off the private jetty. Canoes are also available for those who wish to explore the fascinating eco-system on their own.

Knysna boasts an array of unique species including the Knysna seahorse, the Knysna Loerie, the endangered dwarf chameleon and Brenton Blue Butterfly. The area also hosts some of the biggest wildlife creatures - the Humpback and Southern Right whales visit the coastline during the months of May and September to breed in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, and Knysna is also home to the only forest elephants in South Africa.
